Living Life with a Balance

Learning to live life with a balance is something I think a lot of us need.

Some of us admit that we need to just take a moment to review our life and then move along in our journey, while others think their life is just fine, when deep inside, they know that they are losing steam and suffering from burnout.

I can’t help but wonder sometimes, why is it that we are losing our balance in life?

Like a see-saw, there are constant ups and downs.  It is hard to see a see-saw parallel to the ground by itself, but it takes 2 equal weighted people to attempt to balance it.

But, even still, that see-saw has got to be moving.  Making it stay parallel to the ground is equivalent to not having anything move or change.  That would not be the right approach as the world is constantly moving and changing.

So what are some things we can do to keep our lives in check?

1. Review our lives.  We have got to know where we are heading and how we are doing.  Pure blindness to the situation is not going to help matters.  We have got to be honest with ourselves and ask what is it that we are doing right, what is it that we have to be letting go, and finally, what is it that we have to be doing more or less of.

2. Develop a plan of action.  All talk and no action = zero.  We can dream about our plans, but we have got to build a foundation on it so that these will no longer be castles in the air but real solid concrete dreams that are coming into fruition.

3. Anchor ourselves.  Determining what is in our centre of our lives is key.  What are we working for? Do we have a vision, goal or dream or greater purpose that we are doing this for?

4. Review and reflect.  Spend time to review and reflect our plans.  Chart our progress, make things happen.  See how we are doing and work harder at making it work.  Sitting at home and feeling helpless is not going to help matter.  Helpless by itself = helping less to the situation.  Surely we want to make things improve and not make it worse right?

Look at your life today.  Living life with balance does not mean sitting there doing nothing so that the see-saw does not move up and down.  Living life with balance means recognising that there are ups and downs in life, but with a plan of action on hand, an anchored purpose and constant review will help you see the changes in life more acceptable and help you face the challenges with a more positive attitude.

Here’s to really looking at living your life with a balance! =)

On the Economy…

I have been reflecting on what is happening in the world today, and I noticed that amidst all the other activities, the ECONOMY seemed to be the BIG word flashed across the newspapers, internet and Television News.

I cannot help but wonder, what really went wrong?

I know a lot of people probably have analysed this, and blamed it on the sub-prime mortgage loans.

While I am not so inclined to be quick to point my finger at anyone, (though highly tempted to),  I ask myself, what can be done during trying times like this?

I believe then, each of us have to learn to adapt new habits, re-think our spending, change my perspective and learn the basic fundamentals of money management again.

That is why, I came up with a free teleclass on

Back from Malaysia

I went to Malaysia to attend a relative’s wedding over the weekend.

Just over this weekend, I learn 2 things:-

1. Family ties are important.  I have many relatives, and it was great to just seeing them and saying hi, some of whom I haven’t seen in decades =)

2. Don’t wait till tomorrow what you set out to do today.  Tomorrow may never come, for time is as precious as it is.

I am excited about the 2009 Goals Challenge coming 26 Dec.
I am not going to let my 2009 slip me past like 2008 did.

You can find out more about the 2009 Goals Challenge here http://www.pausetostart.com/2009goals.html

Have a fantastic week…

its now laundry time!

What is your 2009 going to be like?

I was just reflecting and I just realised that 2008 will be gone just like that!

I wonder what my 2008 had been and what my 2009 is going to be like?

I came up with concept of having 7 major areas that one needs to look at in life.
I remember that I was taught that there are 6 major balls in your life that you are juggling.
They are Spirituality, Health, Family, Relationships, Finance, Career.

I came up with one more, SELF.

I am not propounding that we be the most self-centred creatures on earth, but I am wondering when was the last time we really took care of ourselves, and not do something that we think we are doing doing for ourselves but it is in fact for someone else.

I decide to Squidoo it. I created a lense for A GUIDE TO LIFE FOR THE NEW YEAR.

May 2009 be a purposeful year for you!
